Berlin, Germany — Lana, a German student pursuing a degree in linguistics and Chinese, has voiced strong support for the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), highlighting its role in connecting countries and fostering global development.
With a deep interest in Chinese culture, Lana believes that the BRI has significantly enhanced trade relations between China and Germany. “The Belt and Road is a good initiative that connects and benefits many countries around the world,” she said. “Trade between China and Germany has become closer because of it.”
Lana views the BRI as a modern manifestation of globalization, one that promotes better coordination among nations. “It enables developing countries to share the fruits of global development and provides more equitable development opportunities,” she explained. “This kind of collaboration is essential in today’s interconnected world.”
The Belt and Road Initiative, proposed by China in 2013, aims to build trade and infrastructure networks connecting Asia with Europe and Africa along the ancient Silk Road trade routes. It has since evolved into a global development strategy involving numerous countries and international organizations.
Lana’s perspective reflects a growing appreciation among young Europeans for initiatives that promote international cooperation and shared prosperity. “As students, we see the value in building bridges between cultures and economies,” she said. “The BRI is a step towards a more inclusive and sustainable global community.”
