The China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) kicked off in Beijing on September 2, 2023, drawing participants from over 80 countries and international organizations. With the theme “Opening up Leads Development, Cooperation Delivers the Future“, this year’s event spans nine sectors, including financial services, cultural and tourism services, education services, sports services, and cutting-edge telecommunication and information services.
Among the throngs of visitors exploring the expansive exhibits was Generation Z student, Eakvixay Tran from Laos, who is currently studying economics in China. Intrigued by high-tech service products, Tran immersed himself in the Telecommunications, Computer, and Information Services Pavilion. His journey continued to the Supply Chain and Business Services Pavilion, aligning with his academic pursuits.
“This trip was an interesting and unforgettable experience,” Tran remarked, visibly enthused by the array of innovative exhibits. The transformation of Shougang Park—from historic factory grounds to a hub of technological advancement—left a profound impression on him. “Seeing the contrast between the old industrial structures and the new high-tech showcases truly embodies the spirit of progress,” he added.
CIFTIS 2023 has attracted over 2,400 enterprises, offering a platform for global professionals, investors, and enthusiasts to engage with the latest developments in service trade. The event not only highlights China’s commitment to international cooperation but also provides opportunities for individuals like Tran to connect with groundbreaking technologies and ideas.
