Young Volunteers Share Their Hopes at Chengdu Universiade

The 31st Summer World University Games, also known as the Chengdu Universiade, officially commenced on July 28 in Chengdu, the capital of southwest China’s Sichuan Province. University athletes from across the globe have gathered to compete and showcase their youthful spirit on the international stage.

While the athletes strive for excellence on the field, a dedicated group of young volunteers works behind the scenes to ensure the success of the event. These volunteers, many of whom are university students themselves, have come together to support the Universiade with enthusiasm and commitment.

In a recent episode of “We Talk,” several volunteers shared their hopes and aspirations for the games. “We are proud to welcome participants from all over the world to our city,” said Li Ming, a local university student. “Through our efforts, we hope to provide a warm and memorable experience for everyone.”

Another volunteer, Zhang Wei, expressed excitement about the cultural exchange opportunities the Universiade presents. “This is not just a sporting event; it’s a chance for us to learn from each other and build lasting friendships,” she said. “We want to demonstrate the hospitality and charm of Chinese youth to the world.”

The volunteers have undergone extensive training to prepare for their roles, which range from assisting athletes and officials to providing information and support to spectators. Their participation is essential in facilitating the smooth operation of the events and highlighting the collaborative spirit of the games.

The Chengdu Universiade is more than a competition; it is a celebration of global youth and unity. The involvement of young volunteers adds a vibrant layer to the event, embodying the themes of service and cultural exchange. As the games continue, their contributions will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on both participants and attendees.
