Chinese Farmers Embrace Drones to Boost Agricultural Efficiency

Dagujiazi Town, Liaoning Province—In the vast fields of northeast China, a quiet revolution is taking place. Farmers like Cui Qiang are adopting agricultural drones to enhance efficiency and yield, marking a significant stride in China's journey toward modernization.

For generations, farming in this region has been labor-intensive and time-consuming. However, the introduction of drones for tasks such as pesticide spraying is transforming traditional practices. “The cost is similar to the past, but drones have a much better effect as the yield is increasingly great,” says Cui, standing amidst his flourishing crops.

Cui's experience reflects a broader movement highlighted by CGTN Stringer Hou Sen, who believes that Chinese modernization is intrinsically linked to agricultural advancement. “Modern tools like agricultural drones used by more farmers symbolize the development of Chinese agriculture,” Hou observes.

The convenience offered by drone technology has not only improved productivity but also changed the lifestyle of farmers. “Using drones, I don't even have to show up now. Now I am in white clothes doing farm work, which was unimaginable in the past,” Cui remarks with a smile.

This embrace of technology in agriculture is a microcosm of China's broader push towards modernization, blending traditional industries with cutting-edge innovations to propel economic and social development.
