China is poised to host the inaugural China-Central Asia Summit on May 18 and 19 in Xi’an, northwest China’s Shaanxi Province. Leaders from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan have been invited to this significant diplomatic event of 2023.
Among those eagerly anticipating the summit is Kairat Serikov from Kazakhstan, who grew up in a Chinese community. Serikov has admired Chinese culture since childhood, captivated by Jackie Chan’s films and the rich flavors of Chinese cuisine. He expressed, “The diligence and kindness of the Chinese people have always impressed me.”
Serikov hopes that the upcoming summit in Xi’an will chart a new course for multilateral relations and usher in a new era of cooperation. “I believe this gathering will strengthen the bonds between our nations and open up opportunities for mutual growth,” he added.
The China-Central Asia Summit aims to deepen ties and explore collaborations across various sectors, including trade, infrastructure, and cultural exchange. Citizens across Central Asia share Serikov’s optimism, looking forward to enhanced partnerships and regional prosperity.
