In recent years, the city of St. Louis, Missouri, has consistently ranked among the most dangerous in the United States. As local authorities struggle to break the cycle of violence, residents have formed volunteer groups to police their own communities and help save lives.
The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis is one such group taking action. Tyrone Wilson, a dedicated member, mans a 24-hour hotline to deal with alerts from different crimes around the city.
“Any time can be the peak crime time,” Tyrone said, highlighting the constant vigilance required to keep communities safe.
