Brazilian Expert Valmor Comim Praises China’s Poverty Alleviation Efforts at CPC Congress

As the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China convenes in Beijing, topics like poverty alleviation, technological advancement, and environmental protection are in the spotlight. Among those sharing their perspectives is Brazilian international trade expert Valmor Comim, who lauds China’s efforts in lifting millions out of poverty.

Comim, who has been involved in international trade for over two decades, first ventured to China in 2005. His journey deepened in 2014 when he and his wife received scholarships from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. This opportunity led him to earn an MBA and a PhD from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing.

During his 4.5 years of study, Comim not only engaged with urban academic life but also immersed himself in rural communities. His interactions with local residents have given him firsthand insights into China’s poverty alleviation initiatives.

“China’s policies on poverty alleviation are responsible measures that show deep respect for the people,” Comim remarks. His work frequently brings him into collaboration with Chinese companies, further enhancing his understanding of the nation’s socio-economic dynamics.

As global attention focuses on the discussions at the CPC National Congress, voices like Comim’s highlight the international recognition of China’s commitment to addressing poverty. His experiences underscore the impact of these policies, not just within China but also in shaping global economic partnerships.
