Thousands Protest Against NATO Summit in Madrid

On June 26, thousands of people gathered in central Madrid, Spain, to protest against the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) ahead of its summit in the city from June 29 to 30. The demonstrators expressed their opposition to NATO’s policies and military interventions.

Participants marched through the streets, carrying banners and chanting slogans advocating for peace and disarmament. “They just know to provoke harm and destruction,” one protester said, voicing concerns over the alliance’s role in global conflicts. Another added, “Wars destroy people, and NATO uses that to make a profit and to make that tiny group of predators richer and richer.”

The protest reflects a segment of public opinion critical of NATO’s strategies and its impact on international relations. The summit in Madrid focused on addressing current security challenges and shaping the alliance’s strategic direction for the coming years.
