China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) recently hosted an online open house event at the San Gaban III Hydroelectric Power Plant in Peru, highlighting its dedication to environmental protection and local development during the plant’s construction.

Located in the heart of southern Peru, the San Gaban III plant features a total installed capacity of 209 megawatts. It is projected to generate over 1.25 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 338,000 metric tonnes each year.

Once fully operational, the plant will provide clean energy to about 35,000 local residents, contributing to regional socioeconomic growth. The project not only aims to meet energy demands but also to improve the quality of life for communities by promoting sustainable practices.

During the virtual event, CTG showcased its efforts in preserving the local environment, emphasizing collaborations with community stakeholders to balance development with ecological conservation. These initiatives underline the company’s commitment to responsible energy production and its role in fostering global sustainability.
