American Designer Lori Jacobs Embraces Chinese Philosophy and Culture

Lori Jacobs, an American product designer, has found inspiration and a deep connection with the Chinese mainland through her numerous business trips. Immersed in the rich tapestry of Chinese culture, she has embraced practices such as drinking tea, engaging in Tai Chi, and studying Chinese philosophy.

“Every visit to China offers me new insights,” Jacobs shared. “From the tranquil moments of tea ceremonies to the profound wisdom in Chinese philosophy, I feel a part of something timeless.”

Beyond cultural traditions, Jacobs is also impressed by how technology is influencing people’s lives and advancing the way China conducts business. “The integration of cutting-edge technology with everyday life in the Chinese mainland is remarkable,” she noted. “It’s inspiring to see how innovation is shaping the future.”

Her affection for China even extends to her personal life. Jacobs named her dog “Xie Xie“, which means “thanks” in Chinese, expressing gratitude for the joy and love her pet brings to her life. “Naming my dog ‘Xie Xie’ is a daily reminder of the appreciation I have for the experiences and connections I’ve made in China,” she said.

Jacobs’ story exemplifies the profound impact cross-cultural experiences can have on individuals, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation between different parts of the world.
