For Henrique Pissaia, chief of staff at a Brazilian bank, China is more than a place where he earned his PhD; it’s where he embraced a long-term vision that continues to influence his professional and personal life.
Henrique spent two years studying international economics at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing. Immersed in China’s dynamic environment, he was deeply impressed by the country’s focus on long-term planning and development strategies.
\”In China, I learned what the long-term view is,\” Henrique reflects. \”It’s about thinking beyond immediate results and considering the future impact of today’s decisions.\”
Beyond academics, Henrique developed a love for Chinese culture, particularly its cuisine. \”Dumplings are the most typical Chinese food,\” he says with a smile. \”I miss them the most.\”
Back in Brazil, Henrique often visits Chinese restaurants to enjoy dumplings with friends from around the world. These gatherings not only satisfy his culinary cravings but also allow him to share his experiences and the cultural richness he discovered in China.
Grateful for the opportunities and insights China has provided, Henrique hopes to return someday. \”China has brought so much to me,\” he says. \”I look forward to returning and continuing the journey.\”
