China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) celebrated its commitment to renewable energy with a livestream open day event titled “Waltz in the Wind” at the Charmont-sous-Barbuise Wind Farm in France on December 31.
The event offered viewers an inside look at the operations of the wind farm, highlighting CGN’s contributions to local environmental protection and its fulfillment of social responsibilities. The Charmont-sous-Barbuise Wind Farm, a typical distribution wind power project in Europe, boasts six wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 12 megawatts. Since their commissioning in May 2010, these turbines have been providing clean energy to approximately 7,500 households.
CGN’s presence in Europe has been significant, with over 750 wind turbines supplying more than 5 billion kWh of power to various regions. The company’s wind power projects have the capacity to supply electricity to two million households, reflecting a total installed capacity of 2.4 gigawatts. CGN’s business operations in Europe encompass the development, construction, and operation of wind and solar power projects, reinforcing its dedication to sustainable energy solutions.
“Our goal is to foster a greener future by harnessing the power of wind and sun,” a CGN representative stated during the event. “We are proud to contribute to the local communities and to support global efforts in combating climate change.”
The “Waltz in the Wind” event underscores CGN’s ongoing commitment to renewable energy and its role in promoting environmental sustainability across Europe. By engaging with the public through such initiatives, CGN aims to raise awareness of the importance of clean energy and to inspire other organizations to join the pursuit of a more sustainable world.
