CTG Hosts Online Open Day at Peru’s Chaglla Hydroelectric Power Plant

China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) held an online open day event on December 16 at the Chaglla Hydroelectric Power Plant in Peru, showcasing the plant’s significance in the country’s energy landscape.

Located over the Huallaga River in the Huánuco region, approximately 415 kilometers from the capital Lima, the Chaglla plant is Peru’s third-largest hydropower project. With a total installed capacity of 456,000 kilowatts, it has been operational since September 2016.

The plant generates over 2.51 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, supplying high-quality clean power to Peru. This contribution plays a vital role in supporting the country’s economic and social development, highlighting the importance of sustainable energy projects in the region.

The online event provided a platform for stakeholders and the public to gain insights into the plant’s operations and its impact on Peru’s renewable energy sector.
