Harbin Artist Transforms Ice Sculpture Craft Post-Accident

In China's frost-kissed northeastern city of Harbin, 42-year-old Yueba has redefined ice artistry through resilience. Once overseeing monumental installations at Harbin's renowned Ice and Snow World festival, the craftsman now creates intricate palm-sized sculptures – a creative pivot following a 2023 workplace accident that halted his participation in large-scale projects.

Yueba's miniature frozen landscapes, featuring crystalline animals and architectural replicas, have become unexpected crowd favorites this winter. "These small wonders let visitors hold winter's magic literally in their hands," he told KhabarAsia. The shift mirrors growing accessibility trends in Chinese cultural preservation, with artisans adapting traditional crafts for modern engagement.
