China-Vietnam Dialogue Enhances Media Education Collaboration

The China-Vietnam Dialogue on Higher Education in Journalism and Communication convened in Beijing on September 25, marking a significant step forward in media education cooperation between the two nations. Hosted by the Communication University of China, the event aimed to implement the outcomes of recent meetings between top leaders from both countries.

Leaders and scholars from 19 Chinese universities and 9 Vietnamese universities gathered to discuss collaborative opportunities in journalism, communication education, and cultural exchanges. The dialogue provided a platform for academic institutions to share insights, foster partnerships, and explore strategies for enhancing media education in both countries.

Notable participants included representatives from prestigious institutions such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities under Vietnam National University in Hanoi, the Academy of Journalism and Communication, and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

During the discussions, attendees emphasized the importance of cross-cultural understanding and the role of media education in strengthening bilateral relations. The dialogue highlighted shared objectives in advancing journalism education, promoting cultural exchanges, and contributing to the development of a more interconnected Asian media landscape.

The event underscored the commitment of both China and Vietnam to deepen cooperation in higher education, particularly in fields that impact social development and international engagement. Participants expressed optimism about future collaborations that will not only benefit academic communities but also enhance mutual understanding between the peoples of both countries.
