Young Graduate Revitalizes Rural Cooperative as Farm Manager

At 28 years old, university graduate Wang Lingli made a significant impact on her rural hometown by taking on the role of a farm manager. After completing her studies, she chose to return to her village to manage the Chongzhou Yangliu farm cooperative, embracing challenges that many might avoid.

The initial year was far from easy. The cooperative’s wheat harvest suffered due to pests and diseases, leading to low income and frustration among local farmers. Recognizing the need for change, Wang immersed herself in agricultural studies, understanding that scientific knowledge was essential for efficient and sustainable production.

Her dedication paid off. By applying modern agricultural techniques and implementing science-based solutions, Wang transformed the cooperative’s fortunes. By 2021, her efforts were recognized by the villagers, and she was entrusted with the management of 260 hectares of land. Under her leadership, the cooperative’s income soared to 2.77 million yuan.

Wang’s journey highlights the critical role of a farm manager. More than overseeing daily operations, a farm manager integrates agricultural expertise with leadership skills to drive productivity and innovation. By bridging traditional practices with modern science, they ensure sustainable growth and community development.

Wang’s success story is an inspiration, showcasing how young professionals can contribute to rural revitalization and agricultural advancement. Her commitment not only boosted the local economy but also encouraged other youths to consider careers in agriculture.
