OSAKA – The curtain fell on Expo 2025 Osaka this week, marking the end of a six-month celebration of Japan’s unique blend of tradition and modernity. From seasonal landscapes to cultural symbols, the event offered a vivid exploration of what defines this island nation.
Visitors experienced Japan through immersive displays: spring cherry blossoms symbolizing transience, summer’s tranquil shrines, autumn’s crimson maple forests, and winter’s iconic Mount Fuji. Exhibits highlighted cultural touchstones like Daruma dolls representing resilience, the nation’s passion for baseball, and vibrant street scenes from historic districts.
‘This Expo wasn’t just about showcasing Japan – it was about creating dialogue through shared cultural language,’ said event coordinator Akira Tanaka. The closing ceremony on October 13 featured a symbolic handover to the next host city, keeping details of future locations under wraps to build anticipation.
