Chinese Designer Zhao Huizhou Shines at Milan Fashion Week with ‘Aurora’ Collection

Chinese designer Zhao Huizhou captivated global fashion audiences on March 2 with her Fall/Winter 2025 collection, 'Aurora,' unveiled at Milan Fashion Week's historic Palazzo Clerici. The showcase blended ancient Chinese mythology with Western classical imagery, reflecting Huizhou's signature cross-cultural storytelling.

Inspired by Xihe, the sun goddess from China's 'Classic of Mountains and Seas,' and Apollo's sun chariot from Greek mythology, the collection reimagined light as a global symbol of renewal. Fluid silks and organzas in gold, scarlet, and icy blue mirrored celestial themes, while structured metallic threads evoked modernity.

Huizhou, a rising star in East-West design dialogues, stated, 'Light transcends borders—it connects the sun myths of Asia and Europe.' The show attracted investors eyeing Asia's luxury market growth and cultural enthusiasts drawn to its mythological roots.

Milan Fashion Week organizers hailed the collection as 'a bridge between civilizations,' underscoring Asia's expanding influence in global creative industries. For diaspora communities, Huizhou's work offered nostalgic motifs redefined through contemporary tailoring.
