A series of New Year festivities were launched at the Guanque Tower in Yongji City, Shanxi Province, during the Spring Festival holiday. This vibrant celebration highlighted the region's rich cultural heritage and communal spirit.
The most spectacular event was the traditional Beibing performance, where more than 20 men donned only shorts and carried large chunks of ice on their backs. Braving near-freezing temperatures, these dedicated individuals performed a synchronized drum and gong display, sending heartfelt wishes to the gods for blessings and protection from misfortune.
