China Media Group (CMG) and Renmin University of China (RUC) have officially partnered to revolutionize journalism education. By signing a strategic cooperation framework agreement, the two institutions aim to develop RUC’s School of Journalism and foster innovation in media education.
This collaboration leverages the strengths of both CMG and RUC to enhance talent training, establish influential think tanks, and create cutting-edge platforms. The partnership is poised to build a robust talent foundation, elevating news leadership and dissemination on an international scale.
Zhou Yong, deputy dean of the School of Journalism and Communication at RUC, emphasized the joint efforts in cultivating international communication talent. “We will work closely on initiatives spanning from bachelor’s to doctoral programs, as well as training programs for global media professionals,” he said.
The alliance is set to not only advance journalism education in China but also strengthen the nation’s cultural soft power. By integrating academic excellence with practical expertise, the partnership aspires to develop a world-class mainstream media platform.
Liang Jianzeng, director of the Editorial Office of CMG, outlined plans to collaborate on developing high-quality curricula, forming a core team of experts, building practical training facilities, and establishing a premier think tank. “Our goal is to create a center of excellence in talent development and innovate in intelligent communication,” Liang stated.
The partnership will also see the launch of various research projects, including the creation of an intelligent communication innovation laboratory. These initiatives are expected to drive advancements in media and communication, benefiting students, professionals, and the global media landscape.
