Do Pham Ngoc Diem, an undergraduate law student from Vietnam studying at Tsinghua University in Beijing, shares her awe at China’s rapid modernization. In a recent conversation with CGTN’s Enoch Wong, she recounted her experiences traveling on China’s high-speed rail and living in a cashless society.
“Traveling from Beijing to Changsha on the high-speed train was an incredible experience,” Diem said. “The efficiency and speed are unlike anything I’ve seen before. It truly reflects how advanced China’s infrastructure has become.”
Diem also highlighted the convenience of China’s cashless society. “Everything is just a scan away. From paying for meals to booking tickets, it’s all done through mobile apps. It’s so convenient and shows how technology is integrated into daily life here,” she remarked.
Reflecting on Vietnamese leader To Lam’s first state visit to China, Diem expressed hope for strengthened bilateral cooperation. “I believe that closer ties between China and Vietnam can open up more opportunities for youth exchanges and collaboration. It would be beneficial for students like me to engage more with our counterparts and learn from each other’s cultures and advancements,” she noted.
Diem’s experiences underscore the potential benefits of increased cooperation between the two nations, particularly in fostering mutual understanding and shared growth among the younger generation.
