Beijing-Hong Kong Students Unite at Tsinghua Summer Music Camp

From August 13 to 19, the Xin Tsing Friends' Beijing-Hong Kong Students Tsinghua Summer Music Camp celebrated the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China by bringing together nearly 30 students from Tsinghua University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

The camp offered an immersive experience where students from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong connected through their shared passion for music. Under the guidance of renowned violinist Lv Siqing, the young musicians prepared for a grand concert that symbolizes unity and cultural harmony.

Organizer Wallace Lee emphasized the importance of collaboration and mutual understanding. “Music is a universal language that transcends borders,” he said. “This camp provides a platform for students from different regions to learn from each other and forge lasting friendships.”

Participating students from Hong Kong expressed their excitement about the opportunity. “Working alongside peers from the Chinese mainland has broadened my horizons,” said one student. “We’ve not only grown as musicians but also as individuals.”

Throughout the week, intense rehearsals were balanced with moments of shared culture and discovery. The camp highlighted how music can bridge divides and foster connections that go beyond the stage.

As the grand concert approaches, the participants look forward to showcasing their hard work and the unity they’ve achieved. The Xin Tsing Friends’ Beijing-Hong Kong Students Tsinghua Summer Music Camp stands as a testament to the power of music in bringing people together.
