San Diego Zoo Welcomes Giant Pandas Yun Chuan and Xin Bao to New Panda Ridge

Panda enthusiasts have a reason to celebrate as San Diego Zoo introduces its newest residents, Yun Chuan and Xin Bao. These giant pandas are set to make their much-anticipated debut at the zoo’s all-new Panda Ridge exhibit.

Since their arrival in June, Yun Chuan and Xin Bao have been acclimating to their surroundings. Their new habitat, inspired by the breathtaking landscapes of the Chinese mainland, is four times larger than their previous enclosure. Visitors can expect to see features resembling towering cliffs and serene canyons, providing a naturalistic environment for the pandas.

One of the highlights of Panda Ridge is a brand-new shade tree, offering the perfect spot for these playful giants to indulge in climbing adventures. The exhibit aims to provide an immersive experience for guests while promoting awareness and appreciation for these endangered animals.

The addition of Yun Chuan and Xin Bao not only enhances the zoo’s commitment to conservation but also strengthens cultural connections with the Chinese mainland. The pandas serve as ambassadors for wildlife education, fostering a deeper understanding of their natural habitats and the importance of global conservation efforts.

Visitors are encouraged to plan their trips to witness the charm of Yun Chuan and Xin Bao firsthand and join in celebrating this exciting new chapter at San Diego Zoo.
