The third Sanjiangyuan Ecological Culture Tourism Festival and the Yushu Horse Racing Festival, a vibrant three-day extravaganza, concluded on Saturday at the Zhaxike racecourse in northwest China’s Qinghai Province.
The event kicked off on July 25, drawing nearly 10,000 enthusiastic spectators to Yushu City in the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. Locals and visitors alike gathered to witness the thrilling horse races and immerse themselves in the rich Tibetan culture showcased throughout the festival.
Colorfully adorned horses and skilled riders raced across the vast grasslands, displaying breathtaking speed and agility. The festival not only celebrated the traditional horse racing heritage of the region but also served as a platform to promote ecological tourism and the preservation of the Sanjiangyuan area, known as the “source of three rivers.”
