The first special session for BRICS countries of the International Youth Poetry Festival has begun in China, bringing together young poetic talents from across the globe. Jointly hosted by the China Writers Association and the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Zhejiang Provincial Committee, the festival kicked off on Friday in east China’s Hangzhou City and the capital Beijing.
Running from July 19 to 24, the festival features 49 poets from Brazil, Russia, India, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Iran, and Ethiopia, alongside 23 Chinese poets. These young artists will engage in poetry dialogues aimed at fostering mutual understanding and promoting cultural exchange.
Participants will share their works and perspectives, exploring the rich tapestry of global cultures through the medium of poetry. The festival provides a unique platform for emerging voices to connect, collaborate, and celebrate the universal language of art.
By hosting such an event, China continues to emphasize the importance of international cooperation and cultural dialogue among BRICS countries and beyond. The festival not only strengthens literary ties but also contributes to the broader goals of mutual respect and shared development among nations.
