From July 1 to July 15, the Chinese mainland saw 211 million railway passenger trips, marking a 6.5 percent increase compared to the same period last year, according to data from the China State Railway Group Co., Ltd.
The average daily number of railway passenger trips reached 14.03 million during the first 15 days of July. The robust demand is driven by students returning home for summer vacation, as well as travelers embarking on tourism and family visits.
