Jackie Chan Returns to Age 27 in AI-Enhanced Sequel to “The Myth”

Renowned Chinese kung fu icon Jackie Chan is set to revisit his younger self in the upcoming martial arts fantasy adventure film “A Legend.” At 70 years old, Jackie Chan will appear as his 27-year-old self, thanks to advanced AI technology that rejuvenates his on-screen appearance.

The film is a sequel to the 2005 hit “The Myth,” and sees Chan reprising his role as archaeology expert Professor Fang. The storyline follows Professor Fang as he and his assistant discover an ancient jade artifact imbued with mystical powers. This discovery propels them back to a tumultuous period in the Western Han Dynasty (202 BC–25 AD), where they embark on a thrilling adventure.

At a recent press event in Beijing, Jackie Chan expressed his enthusiasm for the project and his acceptance of aging. “I can’t return to my younger years, but with the help of an AI-aided film, I can revisit them, which is interesting too,” Chan said. He added that he is content with his current appearance and embraces the changes that come with age.

The use of AI technology to de-age actors is becoming increasingly prevalent in the film industry, offering new storytelling possibilities and allowing audiences to experience beloved characters in fresh ways. “A Legend” aims to blend cutting-edge technology with traditional martial arts cinema, promising fans an exciting mix of action, fantasy, and historical intrigue.

The film is anticipated to resonate with audiences globally, particularly those interested in Asian culture and cinema. As Jackie Chan continues to innovate within the industry, “A Legend” represents a fusion of modern technology with classic martial arts storytelling, highlighting the enduring appeal of Chan’s work across generations.
