Tony Banham Celebrates ‘The Sinking of the Lisbon Maru’ Documentary Premiere in Shanghai

The Shanghai International Film Festival recently hosted the premiere of the documentary "The Sinking of the Lisbon Maru", shedding light on a historic event that remained relatively obscure for decades. Author Tony Banham, whose book inspired the film, expressed his astonishment at seeing his work adapted for the big screen.

Banham told CGTN’s Zhang Meng at the film’s launch that he "never imagined that writing that book would end up, 20 years later, with me in Shanghai at such a fantastic event."
