Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng reaffirmed China's commitment to advancing high-quality development and expanding market access during the opening ceremony of the sixth China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) in Haikou on April 13, 2026. The event, part of the 2026 'Shopping in China' International Consumption Season, highlights efforts to drive industrial innovation and strengthen global economic ties.

As a key architect of the Hainan Free Trade Port's development, He emphasized technological innovation as the cornerstone for upgrading domestic industries and stimulating consumer demand. 'These initiatives will inject renewed vitality into both our domestic market and the global economy,' stated the Political Bureau member during his keynote address.

The CICPE has evolved into a crucial platform for international businesses seeking access to China's 1.4 billion consumers. Over 3,000 brands from 65 countries and regions are participating this year, with organizers highlighting special zones for digital consumer goods and green technologies.

Analysts note the timing aligns with China's broader strategy to stabilize global supply chains through increased collaboration. Recent policy adjustments have streamlined customs procedures in Hainan, offering foreign companies faster market entry for consumer products ranging from premium cosmetics to smart home devices.
