Chinese Premier Li Qiang reaffirmed Beijing's commitment to stabilizing the Gulf region during a meeting with Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, on Monday. The talks come amid ongoing efforts to resolve tensions following recent conflict in Iran, with Premier Li stating China will "further play a constructive role" to restore peace and tranquility.
Since the outbreak of hostilities, China has maintained close communication with regional stakeholders while advocating dialogue over escalation. "We remain actively committed to promoting peace and ending the war through multilateral cooperation," Li told the UAE leader during their Beijing meeting.
The premier also emphasized the importance of safeguarding Chinese nationals and interests abroad, urging UAE authorities to strengthen protective measures for citizens, institutions, and projects within their borders. This appeal highlights growing concerns about regional instability's impact on overseas investments and personnel safety.
