China, DPRK Pledge Closer Coordination on Global Affairs

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the need for enhanced communication between China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) during a high-level meeting in Pyongyang this week. Speaking on April 10, 2026, Wang stressed that both nations should strengthen collaboration on international and regional issues amid a global landscape marked by instability and transformation.

Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, reaffirmed China's commitment to implementing agreements reached by the two countries' top leaders. He highlighted the importance of advancing practical cooperation, though specific initiatives were not disclosed.

The meeting with Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, underscores ongoing efforts to align strategies in response to shared challenges. Analysts suggest the dialogue reflects deepening ties as both nations navigate complex geopolitical dynamics in Asia and beyond.
