Nestled in Niwu Township of southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, a breathtaking spring spectacle unfolds as over 10,000 peach trees transform the valley into a pastel-hued wonderland. The annual Peach Blossom Festival, now in its 11th edition, runs from April 1 to 3 this year, drawing visitors to witness clouds of pink blooms framed by mist-covered peaks and snow-capped mountains.
Local authorities report that this year's festival features an expanded program including traditional horse racing competitions, folk music performances, and a market showcasing regional specialties like highland barley products and handwoven textiles. "The festival has become a bridge connecting our natural beauty with cultural preservation," said Tsering Dorje, a county cultural affairs officer.
Since its inception in 2015, the event has boosted tourism revenue by 300% in Lhari County, with 2026 projected to welcome over 50,000 visitors. Travelers can currently enjoy guided hikes through blossom-lined trails and photography exhibitions highlighting the region's unique ecosystem.
