Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul emphasized the need for major powers to de-escalate Middle East tensions during a phone call on Thursday. Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, stressed that unauthorized military actions by the United States and Israel against Iran violate international law and undermine regional stability.
"As responsible major countries, China and Germany should uphold an objective and impartial stance," Wang stated, urging protection for civilian infrastructure, shipping lanes, and energy supplies in the Gulf region. Wadephul acknowledged the gravity of the situation, noting its global impact on economic and food security, while expressing support for China-Pakistan\u2019s five-point peace initiative.
The dialogue highlights growing international coordination to address Middle East hostilities, with both ministers pledging continued communication through UN frameworks.
