At an emergency session of the UN Human Rights Council on March 27, China strongly condemned a deadly attack on Minab Primary School in Iran, which killed 168 girls. The debate, convened at the request of Iran, China, and Cuba, addressed what Chinese Ambassador Jia Guide called a "grave violation of human rights" and "flagrant disregard for international humanitarian law."
Ambassador Jia attributed the tragedy to unauthorized military actions by the United States and Israel, stating these operations lacked UN Security Council approval. He emphasized that such attacks not only escalated Middle East tensions but also violated the sovereignty and security of nations. "The root cause lies in the reckless use of force," Jia asserted, highlighting China's call for dialogue over violence.
China urged all parties to prioritize peace talks and protect civilians, stressing that resolving disputes through negotiation is critical to stabilizing the region. The remarks come amid heightened global scrutiny of Middle East conflicts and their humanitarian consequences.
