Macao Environmental Forum 2026 Champions Global Low-Carbon Collaboration

The 2026 Macao International Environmental Cooperation Forum and Exhibition (MIECF) commenced on March 26 at Cotai Expo, drawing policymakers, industry leaders, and environmental experts to discuss sustainable urban development. Organized under the theme 'Low-Carbon, Zero Waste Cities: Embarking on a Global Collaboration,' the event highlights Macao SAR's role as a bridge for international green initiatives.

Keynote speakers emphasized cross-border partnerships, with representatives from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and ASEAN member states outlining shared climate targets. A dedicated session showcased smart waste management systems deployed in Shenzhen and Singapore, offering scalable models for Asian cities.

The expo floor features over 200 exhibitors, including startups specializing in carbon capture and renewable energy storage. Overseas investors from Hong Kong and Taiwan region-based firms are reportedly exploring joint ventures with mainland Chinese green tech manufacturers.
