Beijing prepares to host the 2026 China Science Fiction Convention from March 27-29 at Shougang Park, a flagship event of the ongoing Zhongguancun Forum. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, this year's convention will convene 1,000+ global participants from 100+ countries and regions to shape the future of sci-fi industrialization.
Sixteen high-level forums will address critical themes including sci-fi film commercialization, AI-driven storytelling innovations, and capital mobilization strategies. The Sci-Fi Industry Development Forum will debut a cross-border resource integration platform, while the Beijing Future Digital Space Innovation Pilot Zone leadership forum will showcase 55 registered companies that secured over 1 billion yuan ($145 million) in funding since 2025 policy reforms.
New this year is the 'Future Digital Neighborhood' exhibition, demonstrating augmented reality production pipelines and next-gen content creation tools. Public engagement initiatives include the Beijing International Sci-Fi Expo's immersive tech showcases and a park-wide narrative game at the Sci-Fi Carnival.
Organizers emphasize the event's role in building China's sci-fi industrial chain through public-private collaboration. 'By connecting global creatives with domestic tech giants and investors, we're engineering sustainable growth for Asia's $30 billion sci-fi market,' stated a forum coordinator during preparatory briefings.
