As minister of housing and urban-rural development, Ni held strategic talks with both incoming and outgoing leaders. During discussions with President Kast, he conveyed Xi's commitment to advancing the China-Chile comprehensive strategic partnership through enhanced cooperation in trade, technology, and public health infrastructure.
Continuity in Bilateral Relations
Kast reaffirmed Chile's adherence to the one-China principle, describing it as a cornerstone of state policy. The new administration pledged to maintain cooperation frameworks established under former President Gabriel Boric, particularly in mining technology and sustainable urban development – areas aligning with China's modernization priorities.
The diplomatic exchange concluded with mutual commitments to expand collaboration in vaccine development and smart city initiatives, building on existing $65 billion bilateral trade flows that position China as Chile's top trading partner since 2009.
