China Pledges $200K Emergency Aid to Iran Following School Attack

The Red Cross Society of China announced on March 13, 2026, that it will provide $200,000 in emergency humanitarian assistance to the Iranian Red Crescent Society, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun. The aid comes in response to a recent attack on an elementary school in Iran that resulted in student fatalities.

"China expresses deep condolences for the tragic loss of young lives and extends sincere sympathies to the affected families," stated Guo during Friday's briefing. The financial support aims to assist with urgent relief efforts in the wake of this incident.

This development underscores ongoing humanitarian cooperation between Beijing and Tehran, with both nations having maintained consistent dialogue through multilateral platforms like the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. Analysts note such assistance aligns with China's broader role in regional crisis response mechanisms.
