China’s Transport Network Achieves Breakthroughs in 14th Five-Year Plan

Infrastructure Milestones Reshape National Connectivity

China has completed over 90% of its national integrated three-dimensional transportation network framework during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021–2025), Transport Minister Liu Wei announced on March 9, 2026. The achievement positions the country to exceed 95% completion by 2030 under the current 15th Five-Year Plan.

Global Leadership in Logistics

With container throughput accounting for one-third of global port operations and express delivery volumes surpassing 200 billion parcels annually for 12 consecutive years, China maintains its world-leading position in transportation services. Minister Liu emphasized these achievements at the National People's Congress session, highlighting their role in supporting economic growth.

Technological Advancements Take Flight

The domestically developed C919 passenger aircraft has safely transported over 4 million passengers since its 2025 operational debut. Automated port systems now lead global rankings in both scale and technical sophistication, marking significant progress in transportation modernization.
