China's Civil Aviation Administration announced this week that major carriers have resumed select flights between the Chinese mainland and Middle Eastern nations, marking a cautious return to normalcy after weeks of regional airspace disruptions.
The decision follows improved security assessments after February's military operations near Iran temporarily halted international aviation activity. Air China and China Southern Airlines are among those gradually restoring routes to Dubai, Riyadh, and Doha, with adjusted schedules to accommodate ongoing regional developments.
"This resumption demonstrates China's commitment to maintaining vital economic and cultural connections," said aviation analyst Li Wei. "The routes serve not only business travelers but also facilitate crucial supply chain operations and family reunions for diaspora communities."
While flight frequencies remain below pre-February levels, the restart comes as welcome news to investors monitoring Asia-Middle East trade corridors. Cargo operations have reportedly reached 85% of typical capacity, with passenger services expected to follow suit by late March.
