China’s draft outline for its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), a blueprint guiding national economic and social development, will be reviewed during the upcoming National People’s Congress (NPC) session starting March 5. The plan, shaped by extensive public consultation, aims to translate the Chinese Communist Party’s policy priorities into actionable strategies through legal procedures.
Lou Qinjian, spokesperson for the fourth session of the 14th NPC, emphasized the plan’s role in aligning national development with public interests. He noted that the session will also deliberate on a draft law to institutionalize best practices in national planning, ensuring long-term strategic stability.
The 15th Five-Year Plan is expected to address emerging challenges in technology, sustainability, and economic resilience, reflecting China’s evolving priorities as it navigates global uncertainties. Analysts anticipate heightened focus on innovation-driven growth and green transition frameworks.
This year’s NPC session, running until March 12, marks a critical step in formalizing policies that will shape China’s trajectory through 2030. The outcomes are likely to influence regional economic dynamics and global investment trends.
