As Beijing continues to welcome record numbers of domestic and international visitors in 2026, the city has unveiled a groundbreaking solution to streamline cultural exploration. The newly launched Jingtong platform integrates booking systems for 74 major attractions through a single WeChat mini-program – addressing longstanding challenges for tech-savvy travelers.
The initiative comes as China's tourism sector sees unprecedented growth, with 2025 marking historic highs in cross-border travel. For many visitors, Beijing's treasure trove of UNESCO sites and modern landmarks now comes with reduced digital friction.
"Previously, tourists needed to navigate multiple apps and repeated ID entries," explains a Beijing tourism official. "Jingtong consolidates everything from the Forbidden City to the Summer Palace in one verified platform – available in both Chinese and English."
Key features include:
- Centralized access to 74 graded attractions
- Multi-language interface for international users
- Secure passport/ID verification storage
- Real-time availability updates
While currently in trial phase, the system already covers 85% of Beijing's most-visited cultural sites. Tourism analysts predict this digital transformation could set new standards for urban travel management across Asia.
