CPC Launches Party-Wide Education Campaign to Strengthen Governance in 2026

The Communist Party of China (CPC) has initiated a comprehensive educational campaign aimed at reinforcing governance standards among its members, as announced during a high-level meeting chaired by senior leader Cai Qi on February 24, 2026. The campaign aligns with strategic objectives outlined at the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, focusing on advancing socialist modernization and addressing performance-related challenges within Party structures.

Cai Qi, head of the Central Leading Group for Party Building, emphasized the campaign’s role in fulfilling the CPC’s fundamental purpose and strengthening its governance foundation. Deputy head Li Xi underscored the need for Party committees to prioritize this initiative, urging mechanisms to “prevent and rectify deviations” in performance evaluations while ensuring public participation and tangible benefits.

The campaign seeks to address systemic issues through targeted education, with a focus on aligning Party members’ actions with national modernization goals. Authorities have called for enhanced accountability measures and collaborative efforts across all administrative levels to achieve “decisive progress” in governance reforms this year.
