Chinese Premier Prioritizes Safety, Service During 2026 Spring Festival Travel Rush

Chinese Premier Li Qiang has called for enhanced transportation safety and tourism service quality during this year's Spring Festival travel rush, emphasizing workplace safety and social stability measures during a recent inspection of the Ministry of Emergency Management. The premier's directives come as millions prepare for holiday journeys across the Chinese mainland.

As a senior member of the Communist Party of China Central Committee's Political Bureau Standing Committee, Li stressed the need for proactive service improvements across all travel-related sectors. "From transportation networks to dining and accommodation facilities, every link must operate seamlessly to ensure travelers enjoy a safe and satisfying experience," he stated during the tour.

With festival travel numbers expected to reach pre-pandemic levels this year, authorities are implementing coordinated law enforcement measures to regulate tourism markets. Premier Li highlighted the importance of swift complaint resolution and consumer protection, noting: "Our focus must remain on safeguarding travelers' rights while maintaining social order."

The measures align with broader efforts to boost domestic tourism and stabilize service sector employment. Analysts suggest the enhanced safety protocols could set new benchmarks for mass transportation management during peak travel periods.
