CMG Spring Festival Prelude Events Foster Cultural Ties in Russia, Brazil

China Media Group (CMG) has brought the vibrant spirit of the Lunar New Year to global audiences with its 'Prelude to Spring Festival Gala' events in Moscow and Brasília. The gatherings, held this week ahead of the Spring Festival on February 17, 2026, showcased Chinese cultural traditions through light displays, interactive experiences, and previews of CMG's highly anticipated annual gala.

Attendees in both cities viewed promotional clips from the upcoming CMG Spring Festival Gala, which celebrates its 43rd edition this year. The events emphasized cross-cultural dialogue, with local residents participating in calligraphy workshops and traditional craft demonstrations. A synchronized light show projecting auspicious symbols lit up landmarks in both capitals.

In a video address, CMG President Shen Haixiong highlighted the gala's role as a unifying force: 'For over four decades, this celebration has connected Chinese communities worldwide while inviting global audiences to share in our cultural heritage.' Analysts note the timing aligns with strengthened bilateral cooperation, particularly in cultural sectors, between China and both host nations.

With over 20% of Moscow's attendees being first-time participants in Lunar New Year events, organizers emphasized the growing international appeal of Spring Festival traditions. In Brasília, the program coincided with renewed academic partnerships between Brazilian universities and Chinese cultural institutions.
