China Condemns Deadly Islamabad Attack, Vows Support for Pakistan

China has strongly condemned Friday's deadly explosion in Islamabad, expressing solidarity with Pakistan following the attack that caused significant casualties. In a statement issued on Sunday, February 8, 2026, a spokesperson for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the incident "deeply shocking" and extended condolences to victims' families.

"China mourns the lives lost, and our hearts go out to the injured and those who lost loved ones," the spokesperson said, reaffirming Beijing's opposition to all forms of terrorism. The statement emphasized China's unwavering support for Pakistan's efforts to maintain national security and protect its citizens.

The attack, which occurred on February 6, underscores ongoing regional security challenges. Analysts note that China's swift condemnation highlights the strategic partnership between the two nations, particularly amid collaborative infrastructure and economic initiatives under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
