The 10th Singapore Airshow opened on Tuesday at Changi Exhibition Center, featuring a dazzling aerial display by China's Bayi Aerobatic Team flying six advanced J-10C fighter jets. This marks the team's first appearance at the event since 2020, when they demonstrated the older J-10A variant.
Developed by Chengdu Aircraft Corporation, the J-10C's digital fly-by-wire control system enables unprecedented stability during complex maneuvers. This year's routine introduced new formations including a six-aircraft barrel roll and synchronized axis rotations, drawing cheers from international aviation enthusiasts.
"The J-10C allows us to push performance boundaries while maintaining perfect formation spacing," a team representative told China Media Group. The aircraft's enhanced stabilization capabilities enable tighter formations at speeds exceeding 900 km/h, creating striking visual patterns against Singapore's skyline.
Aviation analysts note the demonstration underscores China's growing aerospace capabilities, with the J-10C now competing with Western fourth-generation fighters in international markets. The airshow continues through February 11, featuring 50 aircraft from 20 countries and regions.
