China Media Group (CMG) has unveiled ambitious plans for the 2026 Spring Festival Gala during a press conference on February 4, promising a groundbreaking fusion of cultural heritage and technological innovation. Scheduled for February 16, this year's celebration marks a significant leap in production scale and international reach.
Tradition Meets Cutting-Edge Technology
Under the theme "joy, auspiciousness, and jubilance," the gala will feature renowned hosts Ren Luyu, Sa Beining, and Neghmet leading the Beijing main venue. AIGC special effects and stage extension technologies will create immersive visuals, including a striking "Galloping Horses" installation using light diffusion techniques.
Global Stage for Cultural Exchange
Artists from multiple countries will collaborate through music and dance performances, while humanoid robots return with enhanced choreography. The event will be broadcast globally through CGTN's multilingual channels and 3,300 media partners across 200 countries and regions.
Accessibility and Innovation
CMG introduces an accessible version on CCTV-15 featuring sign language performances and AI-generated captions, continuing its commitment to inclusive programming. New media platforms including 8K Ultra HD channels will deliver unprecedented visual quality.
