The Guangsha Lions cemented their position as Chinese Basketball Association leaders with a 68-58 victory over local rivals Zhejiang Golden Bulls in Hangzhou on Saturday. The hard-fought win extends their league-best record to 19-3 this season.
American import Rayjon Tucker spearheaded the Lions' offense with 18 points, supported by center Hu Jinqiu's 15-point contribution. Defensive intensity proved decisive as Guangsha held Zhejiang to just six second-quarter points, flipping an early deficit into a 35-24 halftime advantage.
While the Golden Bulls briefly threatened through three-point shooting in the third quarter, their offensive struggles continued with only Gabe York reaching double figures (11 points). The loss snaps Zhejiang's three-game winning streak, leaving them fifth in the standings.
Other Saturday results saw defending champions Liaoning Flying Leopards defeat Tianjin Pioneers 105-91, while Shanxi Loongs dominated Jilin Northeast Tigers 105-74. The CBA season continues through April, with Guangsha aiming to maintain their early momentum toward playoff positioning.
