As artificial intelligence reshapes modern creativity, Beijing-based artist Lucy Chen has reconnected with traditional art through a vibrant sketch celebrating 2026's Year of the Horse. Using the numerals "2026" as structural elements, Chen crafted a dynamic equine figure symbolizing the zodiac's attributes of vitality, prosperity, and exploration.
Released ahead of the Spring Festival commencing February 14, the artwork honors customs of family reunions, festive banquets, and symbolic renewal. "The horse represents our collective drive toward new horizons," Chen told KhabarAsia, emphasizing how traditional motifs maintain cultural relevance in contemporary society.
The sketch coincides with CGTN's global "All Things Horses" art challenge, inviting submissions that reinterpret zodiac symbolism through personal perspectives. Selected works will be featured in a curated exhibition during the Spring Festival period.
